At the heart of our programmes, we provide enterprise coaching and intensive start-up support.
- LEGIs in Yorkshire and the Humber have helped to set up more than 2,300 business and created more than 5,200 jobs.
The purpose of LEGI is, in part, to address the recognised gap in business support for deprived communities. We are not duplicating the work of Business Link and the Regional Development Agency. We have a unique approach with detailed neighbourhood level activity which helps to support and engage those with the largest barriers to becoming self-employed.
Collectively, we have learned a lot about how to work with deprived communities on an enterprise agenda. This is now reaping real benefits. It is important that we capitalise on this expertise that has been developed for the good of individuals, communities and the economy.
